I have a particular penchant for Southern American Gothic lit, and this little hot mess of a book ticked all my boxes!
Full on New Orleans Vampirism at its finest, blended with early 90's goth/new wave club tropes, small town USA filled with kudzu laden graveyards and a cast of questionably immoral characters made this book un-put-downable for me, to the point I slowed my reading to a few pages a day to savour it as long as I could.
This book will not be for everyone, but that's ok as I suspect Brite wrote it for no one else but themselves, but if you like subversive, lingering text with a proud queer agenda, I highly recommend picking this one up!
