Other names include the Planting Moon, and the Milk Moon, while some call it the Hare Moon.
This years May’s full moon is even more special as it is the first super moon of the year as at least 90% of perigee (the point in the Moon’s orbit where it is closest to Earth.
It ALSO coincides with a total lunar eclipse visible in the North America, Western Europe, South America and West Africa! Due to this it will cast a reddish hue and therefore will also be a Blood Moon.
Phew! This month’s full moon is going to be epic and full of so much abundant energy!
Each month we will release a brand new limited edition candle jar celebrating the full moon of that month as guided by the Old Farmer’s Almanac.
Each scent has been selected to fit the seasonal changes that happen under that moon, and is delicately coloured and finished with a matching mica, which will shimmer when the candle burns. This months candle is a soft lilac in colour and marbled with a beautiful purple mica!
This month’s scent is a sophisticated and delectable floral accord full of freshly cut lavender top notes, ylang ylang, bergamot and geranium heart notes and finished in the base with hints of cedarwood and pine.
The full Moon names used by The Old Farmer’s Almanac come from a number of places, including Native American and European folklore and culture. Traditionally, each full Moon name was applied to the entire lunar month in which it occurred, not just to the full Moon itself.
Each candle has been lovingly cast in pure vegan friendly, eco soy wax and features a crackling wood wick!
This candle has been poured with 300ml of pure soy wax and will burn for approx 45-55 hours.
